I used analagous, monochrome, complimentary, and warm colors to make the first 4 paintings. I used multiple layers to create the individual leaves. In the last picture, I used watercolor pencils and then blended the colors. I liked using the pencils because they gave me more control than a paintbrush.

We practiced working with watercolor by creating a value chart and painting objects that show shadows and highlights.
I drew a turnip to practice with prismacolors. I like how the highlights and leaves look. I used a lot of light layers to build up colors and make it look smooth.
